Music for Harp and Flute
Tatiana
Oskolkova, harp MOZART
Concerto for Flute, Harp and Orchestra in C Major, K. 299 / 30:41 "It is a pleasure to present the debut recording of the talented young harpist Tatiana Oskolkova, and at the same time a bittersweet privilege to release as a part of the program this new recording of Evgeni Svetlanov's 'Russian Variations for Harp and Orchestra.' The great Maestro Svetlanov was looking forward to its release, and we were in post-production for this recording at the time of his death on May 3, 2002. "Although Maestro Svetlanov's recordings as conductor number in the hundreds, he was delighted that his much-admired younger colleague, Constantine Orbelian, had suggested performing and recording the 'Russian Variations' to Tatiana Oskolkova, and that Tatiana had embraced the work and the project with such enthusiasm."
If you were choosing musical instruments to accompany your entry into heaven, the harp and the flute might be high on your list. Sheer beauty of sound and extraordinary powers of attraction make them both popular favorites. A considerable musical literature has grown up combining these two instruments and featuring one or the other in solo roles. DE3303 / To purchase this CD, visit www.delosmusic.com.
